Every patriotic Sri Lankan would agree ,that at this moment,Sri Lanka is performing very well ,in terms of controlling the corona threat.
In such a situation it is sad to observe that some politicians are trying to make tempts,to say Sri Lanka is not performing well.For example, at a press conference a politician was quoting a diagram done by an international institute called ICMA and saying that it is a bogus research and that research has been planted by us,particularly was referring to involvement of mine.This shows the ignorance of this person.
ICMA is a reputed international organization which have a history of over 30 years.It is established in countries like Australia,New Zealand,Thailand,Singapore,Vietnam,Dubai and many more.It is an organization with such a long history and not something that has been set up recently.
This politician says this particular research where Sri Lanka has been ranked 9th,based on another article which was published in march.This again shows the ignorance of the politician who has absolutely no idea how an academic researches are done. Academic research is not just depend on one source and there are so many information that has been used.In this article they have referred to another article .The original article published by the ICMA talks about global leadership ranking.In other terms how the leadership would respond in a country to corona.This was what they measured and the research findings has been published.
In research findings we can see Sri Lanka has been ranked 9th.It says when you compare the leadership with other countries,that have been taken in to consideration,Sri Lanka has performed very well and ranked 9th.This politician who is criticizing has not understood this.
When collecting information,they have used article which was published by an organization called ‘Health review global’.The critic says this website has been setup recently.
This article talks about the chronological order in which the Sri Lankan government responded to the corona threat.It clearly stated the list of activities
that took place since we found the 1st corona affected Chinese patient from Sri Lanka.This chronological order is given in the article. Whether the website setup recently or not,these are all public information.
I would like to ask these people who are criticizing,whether they have gone through the article and checked what was there.
Essentially what has happened is Sri Lanka has done well and these guys want to suppress this information.To do this they are trying to establish a link between myself and ICMA organization.I’m the Chairman of the local chapter of the ICMA. They have given me a honorary position based on my academic qualification.I have a PhD from an Australian university,I am a double Accountant, an Engineer and a Charted Marketer.
I have no involvement in the articles that they have published.I believe this article has been very well done as this is a reputed organization and not what these politicians are trying to project.
