Director General of Health Services Dr. Anil Jasinghe confirmed that seven new cases of Covid-19 have been identified bringing the total number of cases reported in the country to 879.
He stated that 10 patients had tested positive for the virus so far today (12).
Nine of them are navy personnel while the other was reported from the Kandakadu quarantine center.
This brings the total number of cases reported in Sri Lanka as of today to 879.
A total of 504 of these patients are currently under medical care while 366 have recovered and have been discharged from hospital so far.
The death toll due to the virus in Sri Lanka is 09.
